So today we got off to a late start at 730am, but due to amazing cycle paths navigated rush hour out of Antwerp in no time. We were soon beside the “Albert Canal” (built between 1930 and 1934). We followed this for 77 miles with strong headwinds arriving in Maastricht at about 15:40, Simon decided he needed to follow tradition and fall off his bike once again, but luckily ok. With only 21 miles remaining my legs failed started to fail, and I struggled, having drunk 6 litres over water with electrolytes I was still deficient. But we managed to reach Aachen by 7pm, where I decided to fall off my bike!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some stats,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First day measured 3,100 kilo Calories delivered to the wheels, turning the cranks 36,000 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Day: 91.5 miles, 3,100 kilo Calories delivered to the wheels, turning the cranks 46,000 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 3: 94.2 miles, 3,700 kilo Calories delivered to the wheels, 34,480 turns of the cranks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
